U17 World Wrestling Championship: Elmir Cherkezov lost in the semifinal
At the World Wrestling Championship among athletes under 17 (U17) taking place in Baku, Azerbaijani Greco-Roman wrestler Elmir Cherkezov (60 kg) competed in a semifinal bout.
As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to Oxu.Az, he faced Iranian wrestler Amirreza Saeed Tahmasbpourmerzuni.
The match ended with the opponent's victory with a score of 5:4.
It should be noted that before reaching the semifinal, he had won against Nurali Askar (Kazakhstan), Cristiano Libzeit (Germany), and Roman Sharkov (Belarus).
Earlier, two representatives of Azerbaijan - Ali Javadli (45 kg) and Abdulrahman Huseinli (51 kg) - managed to reach the final.
