The Turkish national team set an anti-record at the 2026 World Cup, taking 62 shots in the first two matches of the tournament without scoring a single goal.

In the 1st round of the group stage, the Turks lost to Australia 0:2, and in the 2nd round — to Paraguay 0:1. Following these two matches, the Turkish national team was eliminated from the World Cup early. In the third round, the Turkish team will play against the USA.
The 2026 World Cup is being held in the United States of America, Mexico, and Canada. The tournament kicked off on June 11 and will conclude on July 19. The reigning world champions are the Argentine national team, which in 2022 in Qatar defeated the French national team in the final in a post-match penalty shootout.
