The international regatta "President's Cup 2026" kicks off at the Sarsang Reservoir
The international rowing and canoeing regatta "President's Cup 2026," organized jointly by the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Federation of Water Sports, kicks off today in Azerbaijan.
As Report conveys from the scene, the competition is being held for the first time in the Aghdara district liberated from occupation — on the Sarsang Reservoir.
On the first day of the regatta, dedicated to the 103rd anniversary of the birth of national leader Heydar Aliyev, exhibition performances and the first competitions in rowing, kayaking, canoeing, dragon boating, and sailing will take place. Jet skis carrying flags of the participating countries will ride across the water.
As part of the event, national music will be performed and dance numbers will be presented.
More than 100 athletes from Azerbaijan, Czechia, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Lithuania, Moldova, Romania, Serbia, Sweden, Tajikistan, Turkey, Ukraine, and Uzbekistan will participate in the regatta.
The regatta will conclude on May 1.
