The closing ceremony of the III CIS Countries Games has begun

The closing ceremony of the III Games of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) is taking place at the city stadium of Ganja.

As Oxu.Az reports, the event is attended by official guests, representatives of international sports organizations, athletes, and spectators.

It should be noted that 1,624 athletes and 2,337 official representatives from 13 countries participated in the competitions that began on September 28. Azerbaijan was represented by 340 athletes, Pakistan by 4, Russia by 262, Uzbekistan by 254, Belarus by 240, Kazakhstan by 147, Tajikistan by 144, Kyrgyzstan by 126, Turkmenistan by 48, Turkey by 38, Cuba by 11, Kuwait by 6, and Oman by 4 athletes.

The winner of the III CIS Games was the Russian team, which won 231 medals. Russian athletes earned 130 gold, 61 silver, and 40 bronze awards. Azerbaijan took second place in the medal count. The team won 184 medals (33 gold, 56 silver, 95 bronze). Belarus completed the top three with 122 medals. Belarusian athletes earned 32 gold, 38 silver, and 52 bronze awards.
