Tahir Gozel: We dedicate the victory of "Karabakh" to President Ilham Aliyev

"Qarabag" dedicates victory over Portuguese "Benfica" in the 1st round of the UEFA Champions League general stage to the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.

As BAKU.WS reports, this was stated by the president of the team Tahir Gozel to the website of the Agdam team.

He noted that this game went down in the history of Azerbaijani football as the first victory at the group stage of the Champions League.

"We dedicate this victory to the conqueror of Karabakh, a historical figure, the great and genius leader of the people, the Supreme Commander-in-Chief, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev," said T. Gozel.

Note that "Qarabag", losing 0:2, scored three goals and achieved a comeback victory – 3:2. This victory became the first for Azerbaijani clubs at the group stage of the UEFA Champions League.
