Ruzanna Mamedova became the European champion in women's wrestling

Azerbaijani female wrestler Ruzanna Mamedova won a gold medal at the European U-20 Wrestling Championship, which is taking place in Caorle, Italy.
As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to the Azerbaijan Wrestling Federation, the representative of the national team won in the weight category up to 62 kg, defeating German athlete Leonie Steigert in the final with a score of 4:3.
Thus, Ruzanna Mamedova became the European youth champion for the second year in a row.
Another representative of Azerbaijan, Zahra Kerimzada (72 kg), lost in the consolation match to Croatian Veronika Vilk with a score of 2:8 and remained without a medal.
The Azerbaijan women's team completed the European Championship with two gold medals - the day before, Gunay Gurbanova became champion in the weight category up to 59 kg.
