Rasul Chunayev spoke about the development of wrestling in Azerbaijan

Another episode of the podcast İdmanda nə baş verir? ("What's happening in sports?") was aired on Baku TV.

During the program, former wrestler Rasul Chunayev spoke about the current state of wrestling in Azerbaijan.

He reported that he has been elected as a member of the Athletes' Commission of the National Olympic Committee for the second time. According to Chunayev, the main task of the commission is to study athletes' problems in detail and determine ways to solve them.

"Our main function is to meet with young athletes and implement useful and interesting projects for them. In addition, we participate in assemblies of the International Olympic Committee and hold various discussions within the framework of international events," he added.

The former athlete also touched upon the "Wrestling in Karabakh" project, implemented by the Wrestling Federation of Azerbaijan in December. He noted that the initiative generated great interest.

"We saw that everyone is truly passionate and eager to prove themselves. After the event, there were proposals to open a wrestling hall in the region. This demonstrates high interest in this sport. We will strive to create the necessary conditions for comfortable training," Chunayev emphasized.
