Mbappe named the best player of the week in the Champions League
Real Madrid striker Kylian Mbappe has officially been named the UEFA Champions League Player of the Week.
The French forward scored all four goals for his team in the match against Olympiacos, which ended with a score of 4:3. Mbappe completed the third fastest hat-trick in the history of the tournament. With nine goals after five matches, he leads the Champions League scoring race.
Other contenders for the award included Vitinha from PSG, who scored a hat-trick against Tottenham, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from Marseille with a brace against Newcastle, and Serhou Guirassy from Borussia, who also scored two goals against Villarreal.
The current Champions League title holder is French club Paris Saint-Germain.
