Liverpool has permanently retired the number 20 jersey in memory of the deceased Diogo Jota

"Liverpool" is retiring the number 20 jersey, which was worn by forward Diogo Jota, who died in a car accident in Spain.
As reported by BAKU.WS, this was announced on the Merseysiders' website.
"The number 20 will be rightfully immortalized for [Jota's] contribution to Liverpool's title in the 2024/2025 season - the club's 20th title - thanks to his signature feint and shot in front of the Kop stand, which secured victory in the April Merseyside derby. This goal was the last of his life," the club's statement said.
The Portuguese footballer scored the last goal of his life in the match of the 30th round of the English championship against "Everton," in which "Liverpool" won with a score of 1:0.
Recall that Jota died in a car accident in the Spanish province of Zamora. His younger brother, also a professional footballer, was killed in the crash with him.
