Former UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov has publicly denied widespread claims that he allegedly received help in building sports infrastructure in his homeland.

As reported by BAKU.WS citing sources in the sports community, the 37-year-old Russian fighter, inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame, responded to statements made by his compatriot Arman Tsarukyan, who holds the second spot in the welterweight (up to 70 kg) rankings. Tsarukyan had previously claimed that Russian President Vladimir Putin allegedly built a training facility for Nurmagomedov in Dagestan.

The fighter himself categorically rejected these claims. In his account on the social media platform X, he emphasized that he had not received any financial support and that all sports facilities were built without the involvement of outside sponsors. According to Nurmagomedov, such claims do not correspond to reality.
