Hidayat Heydarov won a gold medal at the VI Islamic Solidarity Games

Azerbaijani judoka Hidayat Heydarov (73 kg) won a gold medal at the VI Islamic Solidarity Games taking place in the Saudi Arabian capital Riyadh.

As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to Report, in the final he faced Uzbekistan's Shakram Akhadov.

After defeating his opponent, the winner of the Paris-2024 Summer Olympic Games climbed to the highest step of the podium.

Recall that this is the second gold won by H. Heydarov at the Islamic Games. The athlete took his first gold medal in 2017 in Baku.
