Gurban Gurbanov on Nariman Akhundzade's game: I don't even know what to say

Head coach of Aghdam's "Qarabag" Gurban Gurbanov commented on the performance of the club's forward Nariman Akhundzade.

As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to Report, at the post-match press conference following the 6th round match of the UEFA Champions League general stage, in which the "horsemen" lost to the Dutch "Ajax" with a score of 2:4, the Aghdam team's mentor admitted that recently there have been many discussions in society about the forward's performance.

"I don't even know what to say. If I express my opinion, it will seem like I'm speaking against the fans. He (the forward - ed.) could have played better, but this applies to other players who entered the field later as well. Perhaps our excessive desire tired us out," said G.Gurbanov.

He also noted the inattentiveness of his team's players in the episodes with the first two goals: "Then the opponent's skill came to the fore. In the last conceded goal, Elvin Jafarguliyev should have been more attentive. Perhaps there was fatigue at the end of the match, and we lost in terms of speed."

According to the head coach, "Qarabag" had very good scoring opportunities.

"But we couldn't capitalize on them. The opponent used theirs better than we did. I'm not completely satisfied with the players who entered the field later. They could have played better. It just didn't work out today," added Gurban Gurbanov.

As a reminder, "Qarabag" lost 2:4 to "Ajax" in the home match at the Tofig Bahramov Republican Stadium.
