Gurban Gurbanov commented on the recognition of Elvin Jafarguliyev as the best player

Qarabag head coach Gurban Gurbanov commented on Elvin Jafarguliyev being named player of the match during the press conference after the game against Danish FC Copenhagen (2:0).

As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to Oxu.Az, according to the experienced coach, first of all, he is pleased that a team player and simultaneously an Azerbaijani footballer was recognized as the best in European cups.

"Of course, I'm happy about this. Elvin is not a simple footballer. There were moments when he played below his form, but then he rose up and fought again. Elvin lacks some consistency. In recent matches, he has become more serious, and perhaps I've started treating him more strictly. He can't be relied upon," the specialist noted.

The head coach emphasized that footballers should always be attentive and not play below their potential.

"Perhaps Elvin will need several years to realize responsibility, to become a more serious and mature footballer. But if we wait for years, it won't benefit our team. In any case, we try to keep him, and I'm sure this is not his full potential yet. If he becomes more serious and focused on football, his achievements will be even more significant," said Gurban Gurbanov.

As a reminder, the match of the second round of the UEFA Champions League group stage between Qarabag and Copenhagen ended with a 2:0 victory for the Agdam club.
