George Russell missed the press conference in Baku due to illness

Mercedes driver, 27-year-old Briton George Russell missed today's press conference ahead of the Formula 1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix due to health issues.
As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to Report, the information was released by the team's press service, without providing details regarding the causes of the illness.
"Unfortunately, George will not be at the track today because he is feeling unwell and is resting before tomorrow's sessions," the statement said.
His teammate Andrea Kimi Antonelli replaced him at the FIA press conference.
Mercedes expressed hope that Russell's condition will improve and he will be able to successfully represent the team during the race weekend.
Since his victory at the Canadian Grand Prix in June, Russell has finished in the top five in five of the six subsequent races.
Currently, Russell holds fourth place in the Formula 1 drivers' standings, while Mercedes is in third position in the Constructors' Cup.
If the Briton is unable to participate in the races, he will be replaced by Mercedes' third driver Valtteri Bottas, who has already signed a contract with Cadillac for 2026.
