Gaji Aliyev appointed as coach of the Azerbaijan national wrestling team
Multiple Olympic Games, World and European Championships medalist Gaji Aliyev has been appointed head coach of the Azerbaijan U-17 youth freestyle wrestling team.
The Wrestling Federation of Azerbaijan has updated the coaching staffs of the national teams in junior age categories.
In addition, Arif Abdullayev has joined the coaching staff of the senior national team. Ashraf Aliyev has become the head coach of the U-20 youth team, and he will be assisted by Rovshan Hajiyev, Nazim Alijanov, and Askerkhan Novruzov.
Girkhlar Badalov, Allahverdi Veliyev, and Yashar Aliyev have joined the U-17 team staff alongside Gaji Aliyev.
Emin Azizov has been appointed head coach of the U-15 team. Elshad Allahverdiyev and Aliabbas Rzazade will serve as team coaches, while Abil Ibragimov will continue working as a consultant coach.
