FIFA World Cup 2026: Egypt beat New Zealand and claimed their first victory at World Cups

The Egypt national football team defeated New Zealand in a second round group stage match of the World Cup.

As reported by BAKU.WS, the Group G match at BC Place in Vancouver, Canada, ended with a score of 3:1.

In the first half, New Zealand's Finn Surman scored (15), while in the second half, goals from Mostafa Ziko (58), Mohamed Salah (67), and Trezeguet (82) secured the victory for the Egyptians.

The Egypt national team achieved its first-ever victory in World Cup final tournaments. Egypt first qualified for the World Cup in 1934, but played only one round of 16 match (according to the regulations, the final tournament began from the round of 16 stage - ed.) and lost to Hungary 4:2. Since then, the team has participated in World Cup final tournaments twice (in 1990 and 2018) but was unable to secure a victory.
