Beşiktaş management on the information about the possible appointment of Gurban Gurbanov
In recent days, Turkish and Azerbaijani media have been actively discussing rumors that Qarabağ's head coach Gurban Gurbanov was allegedly among the candidates for the managerial position at Istanbul's Beşiktaş. It was reported that the "Black Eagles," who parted ways with Sergen Yalçın several days ago, wanted to entrust the team to the Azerbaijani specialist.
In this regard, Beşiktaş's sporting director Önder Özen made a statement to Teleqraf.
According to him, specific names of candidates for the head coach position have not yet been determined.
"We have no initiative or interest regarding Gurban Gurbanov. Gurban Gurbanov is a very valuable and extremely successful specialist, and we have tremendous respect for him. However, at this point, such a matter is not on Beşiktaş's agenda. In conclusion, I would like to note that the news being circulated has no connection whatsoever to the Istanbul representative," the FC director added.
It should be noted that Gurban Gurbanov has been the head coach of Qarabağ since 2008.
