Baku will host the World Rhythmic Gymnastics Championship

The closing ceremony of the 42nd Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championships took place in Frankfurt, Germany.

As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to the Gymnastics Federation of Azerbaijan, during the ceremony the competition flag was handed over by the German delegation to the organization "World Gymnastics," which in turn passed it on to the representatives of Azerbaijan – the next host country of the World Championships.

The flag handover marked a symbolic ceremony dedicated to the hosting of the 43rd Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championships in Azerbaijan on September 15-19, 2027. Both the current World Championships and the 43rd Championships, which will be held in Baku, carry qualification significance for the Olympic Games.

At the World Championships in Baku, more gymnasts will have the opportunity to earn Olympic licenses in individual and group exercises. Therefore, the upcoming tournament will become one of the most important stages in the competition for Olympic berths.

Thus, Azerbaijan will find itself at the center of the world gymnastics spotlight, hosting both the World Championships and the most important qualification stage on the path to the Olympic Games.
