Azerbaijani rower wins silver medal at the "President's Cup 2026" regatta
Representatives of Azerbaijan won their first medal at the international rowing and canoeing regatta "President's Cup 2026," dedicated to the 103rd anniversary of the birth of national leader Heydar Aliyev.
As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to Report, Alimurad Hajizade won a silver medal in the single kayak event.
He finished second over the 200-meter distance in the competition among athletes born in 2008-2009.
The representative of Uzbekistan, Maksim Ivliev, won the gold, while the bronze medal went to the representative of Germany, Martin Wulff.
It should be noted that the tournament features more than 100 athletes from the Czech Republic, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Lithuania, Moldova, Romania, Serbia, Sweden, Tajikistan, Turkey, Ukraine, and Uzbekistan, alongside Azerbaijan.
The regatta will conclude on May 1.
