2026 World Cup: Belgium snatched victory from Senegal in extra time

The Belgian national team defeated the team of Senegal in a Round of 16 match of the FIFA World Cup.

As reported by BAKU.WS, the match, held at a stadium in Seattle, ended with a 3:2 victory for the Belgians after extra time.

Regular time did not determine a winner - 2:2.

For the Senegalese national team, Habib Diarra (24th minute) and Ismaila Sarr (51st) scored the goals. For the Belgians, goals were scored by Romelu Lukaku (86th) and Youri Tielemans, who netted a brace with goals in the 89th and 120+5th minutes, the latter of which was scored from a penalty.

In the Round of 8, Belgium will play against the winner of the USA - Bosnia and Herzegovina pair.
