At a recent parliamentary committee meeting, the deputy chairman of the Turkish media supervisory authority announced that 2025 would be dedicated to combating LGBT propaganda.

According to the "SSCh" newspaper, at a meeting between representatives of the Information and Communication Technologies Authority and the Supreme Council of Radio and Television, a firm position against the distribution of LGBT content was confirmed. The authority's representative noted: "We do not allow LGBT content under any circumstances."

Council Vice President Feyzullah Cherli emphasized that the key agenda topic would be fighting against LGBT content dependency. He noted: "Instead of censorship, we support initiatives focused on family and children."

Abdulkarim Gun, one of the initiative's leaders, also commented on the situation: "We focus on protecting children, and therefore categorically do not allow LGBT content."

It should be noted that earlier, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan declared 2025 as the "Year of the Family," intensifying his rhetoric against the LGBT community in his speeches.
