The detention period for surgeon Syanan Mehdiev has been extended

The arrest term has been extended for surgeon Syanan Mehdiev, who was brought to criminal responsibility in connection with the death of Nazrin Mansurova (born 1995) after septoplasty (surgery to correct the nasal septum - ed.).

As Qafqazinfo reports, the Nasimi District Court made this decision based on the prosecutor's submission, taking into account the need to collect additional evidence.

According to the decision, S.Mehdiev's detention period has been extended for another 2 months.

Recall that on January 12, N.Mansurova died in the hospital where she was receiving treatment. During the initial investigation, it was established that the young woman underwent septoplasty at one of the clinics, and shortly after the operation, her condition sharply deteriorated, which led to her death in the hospital where she was placed for treatment.

A criminal case was initiated by the Nasimi District Prosecutor's Office under Article 314.2 (negligence resulting in the death of the victim by carelessness) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Surgeon S.Mehdiev, who operated on N.Mansurova, was arrested as the accused.
