Taxi prices have skyrocketed: what UBER and Bolt have to say

In recent days, social media has been abuzz with discussions about the sharp increase in fares for short trips on popular taxi services. Users claim that the minimum fare for UBER has allegedly risen to 4 manats, and for Bolt to 3 manats 50 qapiks instead of the usual 2.50 manats.
According to BAKU.WS, the editorial staff of Xəzər Xəbər conducted a survey among drivers to clarify the situation. Most taxi drivers confirmed the price increase, but some drivers denied it. The price jumps were particularly noticeable during rush hour.
The UBER press service categorically denied the information about the increase in base rates. According to the company, the final cost is determined based on travel time, distance, the number of available cars, and current demand.
Bolt's representative office in Azerbaijan also stated that there was no planned increase in fares, but acknowledged the existence of exceptional cases. The company noted that prices may temporarily rise during rush hour, in adverse weather conditions, or during road works.
