Son who brutally stabbed his mother to death over her correspondence with a man has been sentenced

In the Sheki Court for Serious Crimes, the trial of Rashad Chyragov, accused of premeditated murder, has concluded.

As reported by pravda.az, at the court session presided over by Judge Khalig Mamedov, a decision was announced according to which Chyragov was sentenced to 16 years of imprisonment.

The tragedy occurred on August 20, 2024, around 05:00 in Mingachevir. Police received a report about the murder of 45-year-old Natella Chyragova, who died from stab wounds.

During the investigation, it was discovered that her son, 21-year-old Rashad Chyragov, deliberately inflicted multiple knife wounds on his mother due to a personal conflict.

A criminal case was initiated under Article 120.1 of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan (premeditated murder), and Chyragov himself was detained as a suspect.

The investigation established that before the tragedy, Rashad discovered his mother's WhatsApp correspondence with a man named Nunu. Believing that her behavior dishonored him, he attacked the woman at night, inflicting 57 stab wounds on her.
