The Main Department of the State Road Police (GUSDP) addressed drivers regarding the weekend days.

As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to the GUDP, there is a significant increase in traffic intensity on the republic's roads during weekends. This is due to people heading to recreation areas, an increase in family trips, and various mass events. In such a situation, non-compliance with traffic rules and inattentiveness significantly increase the risk of accidents.

The Road Police appeals to drivers and pedestrians to be attentive and strictly follow the rules to ensure citizens' safety:

"Attention to drivers:

- Do not start your journey without checking the technical condition of your vehicle;

- strictly observe speed limits and maintain distance;

- when approaching pedestrian crossings, reduce speed and give way to pedestrians;

- avoid actions that distract attention while driving, especially using a mobile phone.

Reminder to pedestrians:

- cross the road only at designated crossings;

- refrain from using mobile phones and headphones;

- when crossing the roadway, establish eye contact with drivers and make sure it is safe to proceed.

To prevent accidents, maximum attention and responsibility is required from each traffic participant.

The GUSDP wishes everyone a safe and accident-free weekend".
