Prosecutor's office investigates discovery of remains in Agderin district

An investigation is being conducted into the discovery of bone fragments resembling a human skeleton.

As reported by the press service of the General Prosecutor's Office of Azerbaijan, on April 2, information was received by the district department of the agency about the discovery of bone fragments, presumably belonging to a human, in the territory of Bash Guneypaya village in the Agdere district.

Prosecutors immediately inspected the scene with the participation of a criminalist and an expert. During the inspection, the discovered bone remains were seized in accordance with established procedures for examination and laboratory research, and other necessary procedural actions were also performed.

Currently, the identification of the bones is being established.

The Agdam District Prosecutor's Office is conducting an investigation into the matter.

Representatives of the State Commission on Prisoners of War, Hostages and Missing Citizens will travel on April 4 to Bash Guneypaya village in the Agdere district, where fragments of a skeleton, presumably belonging to a human, were discovered.

This was reported by the public relations department of the Restoration, Construction and Management Service in the city of Khankendi, Agdere and Khojaly districts.

It is noted that the remains, presumably belonging to martyr Asaddin Novruz, have not yet been extracted from under the collapsed house. Members of the State Commission will need to retrieve them from the territory.

"Currently, the Agdam District Prosecutor's Office has initiated an investigation into this fact," the statement says.

Human remains in the territory of Bash Guneypaya village in the Agdere district were discovered by local residents. Citizens reported the finding to the relevant authorities.

This was reported to Report by Zahir Goyushov, the brother of the deceased Gurban Goyushov, to whom the found remains presumably belong.

"Yesterday, with my participation, the prosecutor's office seized the remains and sent them for forensic examination," he said.

Human bones have been discovered in the village of Bash Guneypaya in the Agdere district.

According to Report, the skeleton fragments likely belong to Asaddin Juru oglu Novruzov and Gurban Ramazan oglu Goyushov.

Their bodies were left by relatives at the site of the remains discovery after their death on March 12, 1992.

The remains have been sent for examination to establish identity.

An investigation into this matter is being conducted by the prosecutor's office.
