Orkhan Babazade was sentenced to 8 years in prison for fraud

The Baku Court of Grave Crimes has announced the verdict in the case of Orkhan Babazade, a representative of Instapower company in Azerbaijan, who was accused of large-scale fraud.
As Baku.ws reports with reference to lent.az, at the court session presided over by Judge Azad Majidov, the defendant was sentenced to 8 years in prison.
Recall that at the previous session, public prosecutor Fariz Rzayev proposed sentencing O.Babazade to 9 years in prison.
According to case materials, 53 victims suffered damages amounting to more than 256,000 manats. Operations worth 4 million manats were conducted on their behalf, and these funds were subsequently transferred to company accounts in China and legalized.
O.Babazade was charged under Article 178.3.2 (fraud causing large-scale damage) of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan.
