The Ministry of Internal Affairs issued an appeal to citizens regarding the increasing cases of cyber fraud.

This was reported to BAKU.WS by the ministry.

The appeal states:

"Fraudsters may call you, send messages or links with text: 'Our specialists have detected cyber interference with your card, funds on your card may be stolen at any moment. Please provide your card details to ensure the safety of your money,' thereby trying to obtain confidential information about your bank card.

They may even make video calls to gain more trust, give instructions and, by changing the language of your phone, steal money from your card.

We emphasize once again that under no circumstances does a bank employee call a citizen asking for secret bank card codes, nor do they send links, SMS or emails for this purpose. Even when detecting suspicious operations or system difficulties, bank employees do not need to ask you for confidential card data.

A bank employee may only request the first or last 4 digits of your card, the contact number registered in the system, and the PIN code of your ID card. It is necessary to understand that individuals requesting the full number of your bank card, PIN code, CVV, OTP codes and other personal information, sending you SMS, are fraudsters. Do not believe them and end the conversation at the first suspicion. Let's protect the security of your cards together!".
