The Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) addressed the public regarding fire safety in connection with "Yel Chershenbesi".
This was reported to BAKU.WS by the MES.
The message notes that today our people celebrate "Yel Chershenbesi" in connection with the approaching Novruz, which embodies our national and spiritual values:
"Unfortunately, despite the mass educational work carried out by the Ministry of Emergency Situations, including repeated appeals, in some cases during the celebration of Novruz, violations of fire safety rules are observed, which ultimately leads to sad consequences.
Thus, the country's public received with regret the news that last Wednesday in the Barda district, a young child N.Gurbanzade, born in 2019, died from various burn injuries received after falling into a festive bonfire.
In connection with the above, the Ministry of Emergency Situations again appeals to the population with a call to strictly observe the following fire safety rules:
- the festive bonfire should be lit away from houses, cars, electrical wires, trees and other combustible items;
- children gathering around the bonfire should be supervised by adults;
- one should be careful when jumping over the bonfire;
- the bonfire should remain under observation until it is completely extinguished;
- candles lit on festive tables should not be left unattended.
It should also be taken into account that lighting bonfires in windy weather is considered particularly dangerous.
Remember: the use of pyrotechnics is prohibited!
Don't forget: Indifference to the rules is a threat to our lives!".
