Joyful news regarding pensions and benefits in Azerbaijan

In Azerbaijan, another increase in pensions and social benefits is expected this year as part of a new package of social reforms.
This was announced at a meeting of the board of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population, reports Oxu.Az.
Since the beginning of the year, the minimum wage has increased by 16% and amounts to 400 manats. Salaries were also increased in a number of sectors, pensions were indexed, and from February 1, the minimum pension increased by 14.3% - to 320 manats.
Minister of Labor Anar Aliyev noted that along with the growth of social payments, employment programs are expanding and innovative solutions are being implemented in the social services system.
Since the beginning of the year, 1.768 billion manats have been allocated for pension payments, which is 156 million or 10% more compared to the same period last year. 475 thousand people received benefits totaling 275 million manats, and 402 thousand people received presidential scholarships totaling 173 million manats.
In the first quarter, the State Employment Agency involved 84.7 thousand people in active employment programs: 27.2 thousand were employed, 1,195 people are participating in the self-employment program, 1,221 were sent for vocational training, and 55.1 thousand received career guidance services.
From January to March, disability status was established for 11.6 thousand people. Rehabilitation services were provided to 27.9 thousand citizens with disabilities, and 4.5 thousand people were provided with 29.4 thousand technical rehabilitation aids.
