Currently, 1% of teachers in Azerbaijan teach 34 hours per week and receive a salary of 2,000 manats and above.

As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to Report, the Minister of Science and Education Emin Amrullayev, speaking at an event on the topic "Certification 2025: Professional Teacher - Quality Education," stated that such figures are provided in the published statistics on the average monthly salary of teachers in Azerbaijan for the 2025-2026 academic year,

According to him, this category includes 1,399 teachers.

"11% of teachers teach 31 hours per week and receive a salary from 1,500 to 2,000 manats (12,803 teachers), 33% teach 25 hours per week and receive a salary from 1,000 to 1,500 manats (39,296 teachers), 41% teach 17 hours per week and receive a salary from 500 to 1,000 manats (49,757 teachers), 14% teach only 8 hours per week and receive a salary up to 500 manats (17,492 teachers)," noted the minister.

Amrullayev added that the existing approach is aimed at rationalization in schools, ensuring that teachers with high salaries work by providing them with a greater teaching load.
