Free choice of school and teacher for admission of children to the 1st grade of the Russian department begins in general education institutions.

From July 17, 2025, at 11:00, the priority selection system for Russian departments of general education institutions in Absheron district, Baku, Sumgayit and Ganja cities is canceled.

From this date, citizens will be able to choose a school and teacher freely.

Note that the selection process is carried out through the portal mektebeqebul.edu.az.
