Azerbaijan is preparing to host another significant international event. From May 13 to 15, 2025, the International Air Transport Association (IATA) Aviation Energy Forum will be held in Baku with the support of Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL).

As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to the press service of Azerbaijan Airlines CJSC, the Aviation Energy Forum (AEF) is one of the world's leading platforms dedicated to energy and sustainable development issues in the aviation industry. The event will be held in the Caucasus for the first time and will serve as a platform for discussing key issues in the aviation industry, as well as determining future energy strategies. Additionally, this will be an important step in strengthening Azerbaijan's international position in the aviation and energy sectors and expanding international cooperation. For AZAL, hosting the forum is an important opportunity to present the country's aviation diplomacy and energy agenda on the international stage.

The main theme of the forum will be the decarbonization of the aviation industry, the introduction of sustainable fuels, and the role of airlines in the energy transformation process. The event will discuss commercial and technical aspects of aviation fuel, problems in the fuel supply chain, comprehensive reports on the state of the aviation industry, and much more.

Furthermore, within the framework of the AEF, special attention will be paid to priority areas such as Azerbaijan's strategy in the green economy, its transit and logistics capabilities, and energy diplomacy.

It is noted that representatives from about 60 countries and more than 65 airlines will participate in the forum, with a total of almost 700 registered participants.

Thus, the Forum will bring together representatives of IATA member airlines, fuel procurement managers, sustainability experts, IATA strategic partners, suppliers of traditional and alternative fuels, companies providing fuel services, as well as leaders of the fuel sector. As a leading industry event for the global community of aviation fuel specialists, the AEF conference is open only to IATA members and its strategic partners working in the field of fuel supply.

As part of the AEF, Forum guests will participate in panel discussions on aviation and energy topics, exchange knowledge and experience during commercial and technical sessions, and meet with exhibitors and sponsors, opening new opportunities for cooperation.
