Since last year, the fine for discarding tobacco waste into the environment has been significantly increased.

As reported by BAKU.WS, according to the new rules, the fine for discarding tobacco waste into the environment has been increased from 50 to 300 manats.

However, citizens' lack of awareness on this issue leads to them being fined in large amounts.

A resident of the capital who contacted Milli.Az reported that he was unaware of the changes in the law, was smoking in the Yasamal district and threw a cigarette butt on the ground. After that, police officers approached him, drew up a protocol, and he was fined 300 manats.

We remind you that according to the law, for repeating the same act within a year, a fine of 700 manats is imposed or, depending on the circumstances of the case and taking into account the identity of the offender, community service from 60 to 100 hours is applied.
