Azerbaijan Ministry of Internal Affairs Makes Important Statement on Citizens' Bank Cards

In 2024, through cyber attacks from abroad, more than 22 million manats (22,442,838 manats) were stolen from citizens' bank cards in 16,804 incidents.

As reported by Baku.ws, this was announced by the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Azerbaijan.

Analysis and investigation of the incidents indicate that cyber thefts occurred as a result of unknown persons obtaining personal data of citizens' bank cards. Bank card holders, believing the promises of unknown persons calling from fake foreign numbers, shared their personal data with them and followed suspicious links.
