An important innovation has been adopted in connection with crimes committed by military personnel

In Azerbaijan, the investigation of obvious crimes that do not pose a significant public danger, committed by military personnel in military units and institutions subordinate to the relevant executive authority, will be conducted through simplified pre-trial proceedings.

As Oxu.Az reports, the corresponding amendments to the Criminal Procedure Code, the Code of Administrative Offenses, as well as the law "On Courts and Judges" were submitted for discussion in the first reading at today's plenary session of the Milli Mejlis.

The draft law proposes to supplement the Criminal Procedure Code with a new article 214.4-1, which provides for the appropriate procedure.

Following the discussion, the bill was adopted in the first reading.
