A ban on the import, production, and sale of these lamps has been introduced in Azerbaijan
Ban on incandescent light bulbs with power from 60 W will come into force in Azerbaijan.
As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to APA, the import, production and sale of incandescent light bulbs with power of 60 W and above will be prohibited. This is reflected in the amendments to the law "On Efficient Use of Energy Resources and Energy Efficiency", which were discussed at today's meeting of the Milli Mejlis.
According to the bill, the import, production and sale of incandescent electric lamps used for lighting in AC circuits are prohibited from the following dates:
- Incandescent light bulbs with power of 60 W and above - from January 1, 2026;
- Incandescent light bulbs with power from 25 W (inclusive) to 60 W - from July 1, 2026.
The exception is incandescent lamps designed for special use in production processes and in products whose primary purpose is not lighting.
The bill was put to a vote and adopted in the third reading.
