Pugacheva has retained rights to 166 songs in Russia and will continue to receive money for them

Alla Pugacheva continues to own the copyrights for 166 songs in Russia, which allows her to receive compensation for their public performance by other artists. A state-accredited organization handles the collection of payments, which are then transferred to the rights holder. This was reported by RIA "Novosti" with reference to lawyer Irina Ostapchuk.

According to the registry, the singer is listed as the author of more than 40 lyrics and the composer of 146 works. In at least 22 cases, she both wrote the words and composed the music. Lawyer Irina Ostapchuk clarifies that it is sufficient to pay for the use of works through this organization, after which it will make settlements with the rights owner.

"The Russian Authors' Society has state accreditation and is engaged in collecting remuneration for certain types of use. Thus, for the public performance of Pugacheva's songs, it is enough to make a payment to RAO, and the organization will transfer the remuneration to her," the expert explained.
