What can South Azerbaijanis undertake if the Iranian regime continues to pursue an aggressive policy?
Expert from South Azerbaijan, Elyar Türker, sharply criticized Iran's recent actions and the tensions it has been creating in the region.
In a comment to Baku TV, the specialist stated that the Iranian regime continues to threaten countries in the region using political and military leverage. According to him, Iran has recently been making threats against both Azerbaijan and Turkey. At the same time, Türker specifically highlighted the recent attacks on the territory of Nakhchivan.
"Iran sides with Armenia not only now but also did so during the Second Karabakh War. During Operation Peace Spring, it also supported Bashar al-Assad rather than Turkey. In both cases, the Turks of South Azerbaijan, a nation of approximately 35 million people, stood alongside Azerbaijan and Turkey," the expert said.
Türker stated that the actions of the Iranian regime pose a serious threat to the region. In his opinion, in particular, the Turks of South Azerbaijan are expected to become more active in defending their rights.
"If the Iranian regime crosses the line even further, the Turks of South Azerbaijan will take to the squares and stand alongside Azerbaijan and Turkey," he emphasized.
The specialist added that such threats and Iran's aggressive policy pose a real danger to peace and stability and are ultimately doomed to failure.
