Vladimir Putin thanked Ilham Aliyev for the evacuation of Russian citizens from Iran

On March 11, President of the Russian Federation (RF) Vladimir Putin called President of the Republic of Azerbaijan (AR) Ilham Aliyev.

As reported by BAKU.WS, the information was disseminated by the press service of the President of Azerbaijan.

Vladimir Putin expressed gratitude to the head of our state for the prompt assistance in the evacuation of Russian citizens from the Islamic Republic of Iran (IRI), as well as for the conditions created for the delivery of humanitarian aid sent by his country to the IRI through Azerbaijani territory.

During the phone conversation, the leaders emphasized the importance of the earliest possible cessation of hostilities in the Middle East region and the resolution of the conflict through political and diplomatic means.

The heads of state discussed current issues on the bilateral agenda. The mutual commitment to the further development of Russian-Azerbaijani cooperation in various areas based on the principles of strategic partnership and alliance was reaffirmed.
