The Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic States (TURKPA) supported the decision of the Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan to terminate cooperation with the European Parliament.

This was stated in a statement published by the organization.

The document emphasizes that this decision was the result of the biased and unfounded position of the European Parliament towards Azerbaijan, which has persisted over a prolonged period.

"Over the past six years, the European Parliament has demonstrated a hostile approach towards Azerbaijan and adopted more than 10 politically motivated documents, including the latest resolution of April 30, 2026," the statement noted.

TURKPA emphasized that parliamentary assemblies should serve as platforms for constructive dialogue and good-faith cooperation, including with parliaments of countries that are not members of the respective structures.
