Threats and slanderous campaign of Iran against Azerbaijan

While the whole world watches with attention and concern what is happening in Iran and around it and speculates whether the US, which has concentrated large military forces in the region, will strike this country, Tehran, in turn, is intensifying its rhetoric of threats against neighboring states, including Azerbaijan.

As Oxu.Az reports, this is stated in the latest video on the Azad Iran YouTube channel.

It is noted that, in particular, there are open threats according to which Azerbaijan could become a potential target in Iran's confrontation with the US and Israel.

"In this context, unfounded accusations and absurd claims are being made about Azerbaijan's alleged participation in anti-Iranian plans and its cooperation with forces opposing Tehran. Thus, the slanderous campaign against Azerbaijan conducted in this country during the 12-day war between Iran and Israel last year is being repeated and gradually expanded," the video emphasizes.

It is reported that on January 23, the Fars news agency, associated with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), published an article claiming that a possible military attack on Iran by the US and Israel would escalate into a large-scale regional conflict and affect Washington's allies. In this context, Azerbaijan is specifically mentioned as Israel's key energy partner, providing 46.4% of its oil imports.

In addition, the agency states that besides energy cooperation, the Israeli Air Force allegedly has the ability to use bases on Azerbaijan's territory located near the Iranian border and conducts intelligence and surveillance operations against Iran from there.

"The Republic of Azerbaijan is no longer a neutral neighbor but has become part of the enemy's security chain. The red line has been drawn, and crossing it will turn Azerbaijan into a direct target for Iranian strikes," the publication states.
