The strategy for the development of the digital economy in Azerbaijan for 2026-2029 has been approved
President Ilham Aliyev signed an order on the approval of the "Strategy for the development of the digital economy in the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2026-2029".
As reported by AZERTAG, the document states:
"Guided by paragraphs 3 and 32 of Article 109 of the Constitution of the Republic of Azerbaijan, in execution of the Order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan "On approval of the "Strategy for socio-economic development of the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2022-2026" dated July 22, 2022 number 3378, I decree:
1. To approve the "Strategy for the development of the digital economy in the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2026-2029" (hereinafter - the Strategy).
2. The Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan shall:
2.1. coordinate and control the implementation of the measures provided for in the Strategy;
2.2. inform the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan once a year on the implementation of the measures provided for in the Strategy;
2.3. take the necessary measures to coordinate with the Strategy the concepts, strategies, state programs, national action plans and other similar documents, the implementation of which continues;
2.4. resolve other issues arising from this Order.
3. Monitoring and evaluation of the implementation of the measures provided for in the Strategy shall be carried out by the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication based on the order of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
4. The Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan shall take appropriate measures to provide for the necessary financial resources in the process of annual drafting of the state budget of the Republic of Azerbaijan in order to finance the activities provided for in the Strategy".
