The size of scholarships is increasing in Azerbaijan

On July 24, President Ilham Aliyev signed an order "On increasing the amount of scholarships provided to doctoral students, students studying in higher, secondary specialized educational institutions and vocational education institutions, and amending the order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan "On providing scholarships to doctoral students, students studying in higher, secondary specialized educational institutions and vocational education institutions" dated February 14, 2019, No. 961".
As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to AZERTAG, the document states:
"Guided by paragraph 32 of Article 109 of the Constitution of the Republic of Azerbaijan, in implementation of the Order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan "On continuing measures to improve the social welfare of the population" dated December 23, 2024, No. 419, I decree:
1. From September 1, 2025, the amounts of scholarships provided at the expense of the state budget to doctoral students, students studying in higher, secondary specialized educational institutions and vocational education institutions, shall be established as indicated below:
1.1. at the doctoral level:
1.1.1. for doctoral students preparing for Doctor of Sciences degree - 450 (four hundred fifty) manats;
1.1.2. for doctoral students preparing for Doctor of Philosophy degree - 300 (three hundred) manats.
1.2. in higher educational institutions:
1.2.1. at the master's level:
1. for students with academic indicators of 91-100 points - 240 (two hundred forty) manats;
2. for students with academic indicators of 71-100 points - 180 (one hundred eighty) manats;
3. for students with academic indicators of 51-100 points - 120 (one hundred twenty) manats;
1.2.2. at the bachelor's level (basic (higher) medical education):
1.2.2.1 for students with academic indicators of 91-100 points - 200 (two hundred) manats;
2. for students with academic indicators of 71-100 points - 160 (one hundred sixty) manats;
3. for students with academic indicators of 51-100 points - 110 (one hundred ten) manats;
1.3. in secondary specialized educational institutions:
1.3.1. for students with academic indicators of 91-100 points - 110 (one hundred ten) manats;
1.3.2. for students with academic indicators of 71-100 points - 90 (ninety) manats;
1.3.3. for students with academic indicators of 51-100 points - 70 (seventy) manats;
1.4. in vocational education institutions:
1.4.1. for students with academic indicators of "5" (91-100 points at the level of higher technical vocational education) - 110 (one hundred ten) manats;
1.4.2. for students with academic indicators of "4" and "5" (71-100 points at the level of higher technical vocational education) - 90 (ninety) manats;
1.4.3. for students with academic indicators of "3"-"5" (51-100 points at the level of higher technical vocational education) - 70 (seventy) manats.
2. Make the following amendments to the Order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan "On providing scholarships to doctoral students, students studying in higher, secondary specialized educational institutions and vocational education institutions" dated February 14, 2019, No. 961 (Collection of Legislation of the Republic of Azerbaijan, 2019, No. 2, Article 291 (Volume I); 2024, No. 4, Article 390):
2.1. for paragraph 1.1:
2.1.1. in the first paragraph, replace the word "stage" with the word "level";
2.1.2. consider the second paragraph as subparagraph 1.1.1 and in this subparagraph replace the words "400 (four hundred)" with the words "450 (four hundred fifty)";
2.1.3. consider the third paragraph as subparagraph 1.1.2 and in this subparagraph replace the words "240 (two hundred forty)" with the words "300 (three hundred)";
2.2. for paragraph 1.2:
2.2.1. consider the second and third paragraphs as subparagraphs 1.2.
