The SGB detained a person who was blackmailing the President's family

A large-scale campaign of blackmail and distribution of defamatory materials involving bloggers residing abroad has been uncovered in Azerbaijan.

As reported by İTV, since the beginning of this year, bloggers based abroad, including Mehman Huseynov, Emin Huseynov, and Gabil Mammadov, have been spreading defamatory materials against Alyona Aliyeva on various platforms. It is noted that M. Huseynov displayed fragments of fake video recordings during one of his live streams.

In addition, a certain individual located outside the country contacted high-ranking Azerbaijani officials via foreign phone numbers and email, making blackmail demands. The perpetrator claimed to possess video materials allegedly featuring Alyona Aliyeva and demanded 5 million euros in exchange for not distributing them.

The State Security Service (SSS) has opened a criminal case on this matter under the relevant articles of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan. As a result of the operation conducted, a suspect was detained — Azerbaijani citizen F.S. During the investigation, he admitted his guilt and provided detailed testimony on the case.
