The second day of the 13th session of the World Urban Forum has concluded

The results of the second day of the 13th session of the UN World Urban Forum (WUF13) have been summarized.

As reported by Oxu.Az, the program of the second day began with a press conference held before the official opening ceremony of the forum. During the conference, the goals and priorities of WUF13 were discussed, and questions were answered.

This was followed by a joint closing session of the assemblies and the official opening of the Urban Expo exhibition.

In the afternoon, the official opening ceremony of WUF13 took place. President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva participated in the event.

President Ilham Aliyev and Executive Director of the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) Anaclaudia Rossbach welcomed the heads of state and government and delegation leaders participating in the session.

After the welcoming ceremony, a group photo was taken.

Then, a video prepared by the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) dedicated to the opening of WUF13 was screened, and a cultural program was presented.

The President of Azerbaijan addressed the event.

Following the official part, for the first time in the history of the forum, a Leaders' Summit was held, during which heads of state and government, as well as officials, exchanged views on pressing issues.

It should be noted that WUF13 is being held with the joint organization of the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) and the government of Azerbaijan.

The forum, held under the motto "Housing for All: Safe and Sustainable Cities and Human Settlements," will continue until May 22.
