The Press Council sent a congratulatory letter to President Ilham Aliyev

On behalf of Azerbaijani journalists, the board of the Press Council sent a congratulatory letter to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev on the occasion of the fifth anniversary of November 8 - Victory Day.

"Dear Mr. President,

We celebrate with great pride the fifth anniversary of November 8 - Victory Day, which has become one of the brightest pages of our recent history thanks to your wise, principled and resolute policy as the head of our state and victorious Supreme Commander-in-Chief, the unwavering will of our people, the unity of state and people, and the heroism of our valiant army.

You are the chief architect of this glorious Victory, achieved not only on the battlefield but also on the diplomatic and information fronts.

During the 44-day Patriotic War, you expressed Azerbaijan's righteousness and the struggle to restore historical justice with high professionalism and skill in your interviews with more than 30 influential media outlets around the world. You calmly answered even sometimes biased questions as the voice of history and justice, and conveyed the voice of our people to the whole world with facts and arguments.

Azerbaijani media and our journalists, united around you as a fist, promptly and objectively informed our citizens and the international community from both the frontlines and diplomatic and information positions. Following your example, our journalists demonstrated true professionalism and patriotism, conveying the true voice of Azerbaijan to the world and fighting against disinformation and provocations directed against our country. They became soldiers of the information front and made their moral and ideological contribution to the Victory.

Today, the war is already behind us and our people are reviving the lands liberated from occupation and living in the period of "Great Return." The rapidly implemented large-scale restoration and reconstruction works, creation of modern infrastructure, formation of a new appearance of cities and villages demonstrate to the whole world the power and will of the Azerbaijani state. Azerbaijani media also actively participate in this process, covering the work done, fully conveying to the people and the world the joy of people returning to their homeland, the scale of construction and the essence of state policy.

Your attention and care for the media are both moral support and a great incentive for journalists. The fact that you evaluate media as an important force in protecting national interests, the importance you attach to their free, responsible and patriotic activities, have breathed new life into the development of the media environment in our country.

One of the vivid examples of this development is the Shusha Global Media Forum. This prestigious event, held in Shusha - the cultural capital of our country, is not only a media discussion but also an expression of the message of peace, justice and cooperation that Azerbaijan carries to the world.
