The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan expressed sharp protest to the German Ambassador

The German Ambassador to our country, Ralf Horlemann, was summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan.

As reported by BAKU.WS, with reference to the foreign policy department, during the meeting, a strong protest was expressed regarding the publication on the official Instagram page of the President of the Federal Republic of Germany, Frank-Walter Steinmeier, during his visit to Armenia, of the "flag" of a fictitious regime once created in the formerly occupied territories of Azerbaijan, which is a violation of the territorial integrity and sovereignty of our country.

It was emphasized that this open political provocation during a visit to the region is unacceptable, and the German side should publicly apologize for this publication. It was also noted that this post by the German President contradicts statements supporting the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Azerbaijan, as well as the ongoing peace process.

Along with this, during the meeting, it was stated that when expressing opinions about the Armenian residents of the Karabakh region, ignoring the rights of more than 1 million Azerbaijanis who were forcibly expelled from the previously occupied territories of Azerbaijan and from Armenia is another indicator of biased attitude towards our country.

The German side was informed that Azerbaijan has resolved the conflict, which lasted almost 30 years, through military-political means, restored territorial integrity and historical justice, and this conflict is a thing of the past. The ministry reminded that there is no administrative-territorial unit called "Nagorno-Karabakh" in Azerbaijan. The need to refrain from using non-existent, politically biased, and false names when referring to our territories was pointed out.
