The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan called the claims of Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan, voiced during his meeting with Iranian counterpart Abbas Araghchi, unfounded.

As reported by BAKU.WS, this was stated in a comment by the official representative of the Azerbaijani foreign ministry, Aykhan Hajizade.

"The claims of Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan, voiced on March 25 at a joint press conference with Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi, that Azerbaijan allegedly put forward new conditions after reaching an agreement on the text of the peace treaty, are completely unfounded," the statement emphasizes.

According to him, the Armenian minister is well aware that the demand to eliminate the provision in the Armenian constitution directed against the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Azerbaijan, as well as the official dissolution of the OSCE Minsk Group, were among the important topics of the negotiation process over the past two and a half years.

"Facts about Armenia's territorial claims against Azerbaijan, reflected in the constitution, national legislation of Armenia, lawsuits and political statements, were presented to the Armenian side back in May 2023 during a meeting in Washington. Third countries are also fully aware of this.

Given the above, the Armenian side's claims that Azerbaijan is allegedly putting forward these conditions for the first time are aimed at misleading the international community, and this tactic will not yield any results. If the Armenian side is interested in signing a peace agreement, it should immediately amend the constitution, abandoning territorial claims against Azerbaijan, and not evade cooperation towards the official dissolution of the Minsk Group," A. Hajizade stated.
