The international community condemns Iran's drone attacks on the territory of Azerbaijan

Iran's drone attack on Azerbaijan's territory was condemned by officials and structures of a number of countries, as well as international organizations, which issued corresponding statements.

As BAKU.WS reports, Eswatini, France, Switzerland, Colombia, Portugal, Rwanda, the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, Yemen, and other countries, as well as the European Union, the United Nations, the Organization for Democracy and Economic Development - GUAM, and other international organizations expressed support for Azerbaijan in connection with the Iranian drone attack on Nakhchivan.

Albania

President of Albania Bajram Begaj, during a telephone conversation with President Ilham Aliyev, stated that he condemns the attacks by Iranian unmanned aerial vehicles on the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic of Azerbaijan.

Prime Minister of the country Edi Rama, in a post on his X account, called the attack on Azerbaijan's territory, strikes on civilian infrastructure, and the injuring of people yet another grave and unacceptable act of aggression by Iran against neighboring countries. "The Azerbaijani people, as well as the peoples of other countries who have been groundlessly targeted in recent days, deserve nothing but respect, security, and a life free from threats," E. Rama emphasized.

Germany

The German Embassy in Azerbaijan shared a post on its official X account condemning Iranian drone strikes on Nakhchivan and any actions threatening Azerbaijan's security. "We express solidarity with Azerbaijan and those affected by this incident," the post states.

United States of America

The U.S. State Department issued a statement strongly condemning the unprovoked drone attack by the Iranian regime against Azerbaijan, targeting Nakhchivan International Airport and a children's school, which resulted in injuries among innocent civilians and damage to important civilian infrastructure.

The statement notes that these attacks constitute a gross violation of Azerbaijan's sovereignty and are the result of excessive escalation of Iranian aggression.

"The United States stands in full solidarity with Azerbaijan in the face of these threats. Attacks on the territory of our partners in the region are unacceptable and will elicit resolute U.S. support for these partners," the statement emphasizes.
